The Caledonian Society of Arizona hosted the 45th Annual Arizona Scottish Gathering and Highland Games this weekend leading with a Pro-Am competition on Saturday. With 6 Pro and 6 Amateurs lining up to take on a new field and wonderful weather (80 degrees in February - only in Phoenix)! While its our plan to track down each of the athletes at the event, this interview focuses on Bert Sorin who ruled the stone throws - taking both Braemar and Open Stone - setting new field records and PRs in each. Harrison Bailey III Wins 2008 US National Championships

“After five rain-soaked events on Saturday, Harrison [Bailey] was sitting in a solid first place,” Steve Pulcinella reported to IronMind, and as it turned out, the rain clouds were only warming up on the first day of competition in the 2008 USA Highland Games National Championships held at the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
