With the advent of Nautilus, Hammer Strength, Cybex, and a host of other high-tech lifting machinery, why is it that the biggest and strongest guys in the gym stay pretty basic with their routines? Could it be because it produces results? I’m not totally sure, but I would guess that the likes of Benedict Magnusson, Phil Pfister, and Brad Gillingham, don’t spend a whole lot of time with dumbbell concentration curls on a 30 degree incline bench with a peak contraction at the top, super-setted with high rep tricep cable push-downs.

High School Shot Putter Making a Statement

Stephen Saenz from Rio Grande City High School just set a Nations Leading best throw of 69-07-75 at the Carl Lewis Invitational. This adds to the amazing crop of great throws this year at the high school level. Nick Vena from New Jersey opened up with a huge throw earlier this month with toss in the 68-foot range. Minnesota Winter Strongman Challenge II
