WAF World Armwrestling Championships Come to BC

The World Armwrestling Federation will present the 30th annual World Armwrestling Championships in Kelowna BC, Canada. The event will be held at the Grand Okanagan Lakefront Resort & Conference Centre and will be telecast live and at no cost. Hundreds of athletes will compete in both individual and team competition in over a hundred classes. The competition kicks off with on December 2nd with weigh-ins. Bouts begin the following day and concludes on Saturday the 6th. Award ceremonies will take place at the end of each day’s contests. Stay tuned to Rip-N-Rage for the latest updates and results. T&F Community Mourns Loss

Dr. C. Harmon Brown, longtime contributor to USATF, lost his battle with cancer on November 11, at the age of 78. After competing as a hurdler at Lafayette College, Brown's dedication to track and field never waned.  He served the sport he loved as a coach, team administrator, and track meet official.  He coached collegiate, national, and international athetes, including three Olympic throwers.  He also chaired the USATF Sports Science and Medical Committee for nearly twenty years. Deadlift Record Holders Compete

Tony Caprari defeated Tom Elseman and just barely missed overtaking his current deadlift world record of 774 pounds with a try at 775 (lost his grip attempting to lock it out). Tom Elseman went for it all by opening at 800 pounds and wasn't able to push it out - although he was very close on his 2nd attempt. Caprari and Elseman compete in the 198 class deadlift and have traded the world record back and forth. Read More
